'Tis the season for sunflowers! Here in Portland, we are lucky enough to have a few different sunflower fields to visit this time of year and one such field is located at Plumper Pumpkin Patch & Tree Farm in northwest Portland. Each year, the Plumper Farm hosts its annual Sunflower Festival complete with a sunflower maze, a variety of farm animals, large slides, and cute farm store - plenty of fun things to fill a weekend afternoon!

Emmy LOVED seeing all the animals, including the baby piglets that were brand new to the farm - they were born just a few weeks ago! The farm has sheep, goats, donkeys, calves, rabbits, pigs, turkeys, chickens and alpacas - so many interesting creatures for toddlers to see. And, of course, the main attraction at the festival were the sunflowers! Rather than just a sunflower field, Plumper Farm created a sunflower maze, similar to that of a corn maze so popular during the fall. We had fun wandering through the maze, meandering our way among the sunflower stalks, watching the bees and hearing their calm buzzing.

Be sure to check out Plumper Pumpkin Patch's Sunflower Festival in the next couple of weeks! Between the farm animals and the sunflower field, your family, particularly your kiddos, will have the best time.
